The questions people ask us first

Most people hiring a restoration company are doing it for the first time, in the worst week of their year. These are the questions we get asked most, answered the way we would answer them on the phone.

Damage still happening?

Do not read through FAQs first — call us and we will tell you what to do right now, and get someone moving.

Reconstruction & remodeling

We answer the phone 24 hours a day and dispatch a crew for emergencies. Exactly how fast we reach you depends on where the property is and what is already out on the road, and we will tell you a real time on the call rather than a number designed to get you off the phone.

If the power or gas is affected, leave the building. Do not run a household vacuum over soot — it drives the residue deeper into surfaces. Do not wipe soot off walls or furniture, because most people smear it. If water is coming in, shut off the supply if you can reach it safely, and put towels where they will actually help. Otherwise, leave things where they are: the state of the room is evidence for your claim.

Yes, and we work with any carrier and any adjuster. We document what we find, put it in the format your adjuster expects to receive, and meet them on site so the assessment is not argued over later. We will also tell you plainly when the damage is minor enough that filing a claim is not worth it.

No. For a covered claim we bill the carrier directly for the covered portion, and you are responsible for your deductible. For work that is not covered, or for a repair you are paying for yourself, you approve a written itemized scope before anything chargeable begins — so there is never a bill you did not see coming.

Most water losses take three to five days of equipment running, depending on how much water got in, what it soaked into, and how the building is built. We take moisture readings daily and keep the equipment on until the structure reads dry — not until it looks dry. If it takes longer, we tell you why rather than collecting the fans early.

Not if it is treated properly. Smoke residue is acidic and keeps working into surfaces until it is neutralized, and the smell comes back every humid day if it was only masked. We clean and seal the surfaces the residue reached, treat the air and the ductwork where it is needed, and check it after the work is done rather than assuming.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. A single flooded room can usually be dried with you in the house. A fire that affected the structure, or a loss that has compromised the electrics, usually means staying elsewhere for a period — and if a hotel is part of a covered claim, it is usually covered. We will tell you honestly which one you are looking at.

Both, and that is the point. The most common complaint after a loss is not the cleanup — it is the wait afterwards, with the house dried and the family sitting in a half-finished room waiting on a contractor. We do the mitigation and the reconstruction, so the rebuild starts when the cleanup ends instead of after you find somebody.

Yes. Offices, retail, restaurants and multi-family buildings, restored on a schedule built around your operating hours and your tenants. Water in a restaurant kitchen or a retail floor is a business-interruption problem as much as a repair, so we plan the work to keep you trading where it is possible.

Proudly serving Chicago and the surrounding suburbs — across Cook, DuPage, Lake, Will and Kane counties. If you are just outside that area, call anyway and we will tell you honestly whether we can get to you.
